Modern Medicine
Earlier this year, a rare type of tumor was removed from the side of my face, under the skin but outside my skull, adjacent to my ear. As a precaution, I underwent six weeks of radiation therapy to kill any lingering cancer cells, which I turned into a photography project. The hospital initially supported the project, but it was cut short over privacy concerns. All is good now, except for the loss of hair around my ear.
